Engaged : Krista and Dennis

Krista and Dennis are getting married next August at the beautiful Quaaout Lodge located on Shuswap Lake!  When I met Krista and Dennis for their session, it had been raining all morning and continued to do so in spurts throughout their entire shoot.  They were totally game to keep going and did not let the dismal weather dim the smiles of joy and love that they so clearly have for one another!  With their unique sense of humor and funny t-shirts that they both love so much, they truly brought the sunshine to the afternoon :)  Thank you so much for spending it with me, Krista and Dennis!

Family : Jordan, Shannon and Joshua

I met Jordan, Shannon and their sweet baby, Joshua at Mission Creek Park on a beautiful, overcast, April evening.  Jordan and Shannon have become such wonderful friends to Lyndon and I over the past year and we were so thrilled and celebrated with them as they welcomed their baby boy into this world this past February!

Josh was dressed so handsomely in his button up shirt and sweater-vest and he was just so cozy with his mom and dad that he would have rather spent the evening relaxed and asleep than showing off his adorable smiles!  We did manage to coax out a few though, and I'd like to think I helped, but I think Josh was just saving them up for "Dad" :)

We are so blessed by your friendship, Jordan and Shannon :)  Love you guys!

Portrait : Katie

This beautiful, young lady is Katie.  I first met Katie when she was barely 14 years old.  I was her youth leader and she was just entering the 9th grade.  This year, she is graduating high school and is very excited to be attending Trinity Western University in the fall!  You may remember Katie from these photographs I took for her sister's prom last year.  This June, I have the privilege of photographing Katie on the day of her prom!  I am so excited to be part of her special day.

Family : The Fell's

I met this wonderful family on a chilly morning in Kelowna's City Park.  During the summer, this part of town is bustling with life and colour.  In February though, that is not usually the case.  The skies are usually clouded over and while it gives such a wonderfully blanketed light, it can all seem a little, well, gloomy.  That all changed though when the Fell's came, all smiles and perfectly coordinated with the beautiful colour of maroon/burgundy threaded through their wardrobe.  It was going to be a great morning :)

Thank you all for thinking warm thoughts and sticking with me in the cold!  I think you all look pretty darn good :)

Portrait : Sandra

Sandra is an amazing woman whom I have had the privilege of photographing earlier this year.  The insight and brilliance of this woman is truly a gift from the Lord!  Sandra is in the process of writing a coaching program called Force of Impact which will essentially fall under the umbrella of Emotional Intelligence and is all about The Art of Connecting. In her words, "Our Emotional Intelligence skills (or lack thereof) deeply affect the quality of our relationships. Our success in every aspect of our lives including work, family, friends and play is crucially affected by our ability to create and maintain healthy relationships."

Through her study and research, Force of Impact will encompass not only learning to understand Personality Wiring for ourselves as well as those we interact with, but also learning how to understand how our minds work when it comes to what drives us and how what has been written on our hearts hugely affects us and our choices, reactions and responses every day. Through this program, Sandra's hope is that we will all be able to experience the freedom of, in a sense, being handed a pair of box cutters to get out of the boxes that we may have been put in by ourselves or others throughout our lives. - Don't we all what this?! Hellooo freedom to live in the truth of who we are created to be!!!

I have had the privilege of talking with Sandra in regards to her research and study just a few times and have already been so blessed with her words of wisdom and encouragement.  I cannot wait for her site to be launched and for others to be helped and blessed through her.

Thank you to all the amazing people involved in this shoot!  Barb, Julie, Jillian and Sandra, and Sandra's wonderful husband Kelly, thank you!  You are all wonderful and I have been blessed to see the friendship that you have shown :)
